The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want…” (Psalm 23) Shepherding is one of the oldest occupations, beginning some 6,000 years ago in Mesopotamia and nearly all men of the time were acquainted with the responsibilities of this trade. Sheep without a good shepherd lack direction, and so they are scattered becoming vulnerable to thieves and wild predators. Christ is our one true Shepherd who tends to His flock, leads us to greener pastures and spiritually provides for His Church. He has appointed other shepherds within the Church hierarchy and has warned His sheep of the false shepherds who are out to scatter the herd. Be on alert, be on guard – follow Your Shepherd Christ and place your trust in His ways.
